This Week’s Readings

How was your Thanksgiving? I had a delightful time, especially hanging with my family (here are my g-rents!) and meeting my bestie Jen’s new baby girl (LOOK AT THIS BABY). There was pie, too. Lots of pie.

There are some fun events on the docket this week, including Julie Klausner, Anne Lamott, and Oliver Sacks:

MONDAY: Breakout: Voices from the Inside will feature actors and writers like Lili Taylor, Nick Flynn, Touré, and Bryonn Bain reading works to benefit PEN’s Prison Writing Program. [The Strand]

Issue release party for The Baffler, featuring Thomas Frank (Pity the Billionaire) and Julie Klausner (I Don’t Care About your Band). [Housing Works]

Neurology writer Oliver Sacks (The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat) will discuss his newest, Hallucinations. [Barnes and Noble Union Square]

Thalia Book Club: Anne Lamott. Nuff said. [Symphony Space]

Poetry series Multifarious Array, hosted by Dorothea Lasky and Thom Donovan, will feature Jackqueline Frost, Rachel Glaser, and Carlos Soto Roman. [Pete’s Candy Store]
